Think India Assam team is organising Lachit Diwas in National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam on 24th November 2018 on the birth of valiant leader and treasured son of Assam, Lachit Borphukan. He is revered throughout the nation as an epitome of Bravery, Courage and Leadership. A brilliant tactician and a warrior par-excellence, Lachit Borphukan led his small Ahom army in the war of Saraighat and turned out victorious against the mighty Mughal Army. One of the greatest warriors, not only in the Assamese, but Indian History, The Lachit Borphukan Gold medal is awarded to the best passing out cadet of the National Defence Academy.
Keeping in mind the paramount significance of Lachit Borphukan as a National Icon and as one of the most important figures of the Assamese culture, it seems only fit, to celebrate the auspicious day in the most decorative manner. Followed by Cultural Event and exhibition an open house discussion is scheduled. Along with other events two competitions are also scheduled i.e. Essay writing Competition, which will be an online competition (For details click here) and Art Competition.
